5 Reasons Why You Should Stay Natural

Posted on NaturalBrownies2013@blogspot.com

There has been a lot of chatter about naturals going back to relaxed. Be it bloggers or just naturalista's. There is a group that is returning to the "creamy crack".  Of course I have an opinion, being a natural head for over 10 years. But instead of me ranting about it and adding to the outrage in the natural community, I am just gonna give you some reasons why you shouldn't go back and you should say natural.

One
Versatilty. When your natural you can still straighten your hair. then go back to curly. then straight again, whatever you want. as long as you keep the health of your hair in check, you should because to achieve any style you want.

Two
Straight Natural IS  an option. You don't have to be a curly natural. You can still straight your hair. Maintain the health. even with the heat. there are hair systems designed to do just that. Beautiful textures. Etae Naturals. Of course heat damage is a possibility. But really, is it that big of an issuer if your hair is going to be straight most of the time? I mean, most nautilus worry about it because they want to go between straight and curly. and the straight ends hinder the curly look.

Three
Remember the burn? I mean, come on. Admit that the burn of the relaxer wasn't that bad. HA! It was awful and you know it. You could touch it. Scratch it. Even breath on it. It was gonna burn and it was gonna hurt.

Four
The Chemicals. Have you ever researched the ingredients in the relaxers? The type of chems your putting on your hair and scalp. that is seeping into your pores and straight to your brain. Yes, honey. Ur hair, scale, brain, all at risk.

Five
Overall Healthy Hair. This ties into with the previous but as a natural, you can use natural ingredients to get the maximum health out of your hair. Then your straight hair will be better than ever. Bouncy, shiny, retaining length.

Of course at the end of the day, the decision is your and no one should be maad at you for it. I think people just get passionate about things and they want the best for others. Some times passion comes across quite aggressive.

5 Back to School Beauty Essentials

School is starting, college is almost back in session. I am sure u have all your school supplies, but what about your beauty supplies? Can't be in class looking and feeling a hot mess! So I have five B2S Beauty essentials for ya!

One
Makeup Wipes. Get the refreshing kind! Sometimes school can stress you out, get u flustered. Go to the bathroom, wipe ur face with a refreshing wipe. Not only cleans your face. Helps remove that hot n bothered feeling and leaves u refreshed.

Two
Hand Cream. All those homework papers, class schedules, school rules, etc. papers everywhere! And it just dries out ur hands. Keep some good hand cream around and keep ur fingers feeling healthy. Also, a good smell can help ease stress.

 Three
Lip balm. Same rules apply as with the hand cream. Deep breathes. Long girl convos in the hall. This may dry out ur lips. Keep ur kisser moisturized and u will be mush happier! A lip balm, Chapstick, moisturizing stain, whatever is your fav.

Four
Mascara. Simple. Just apply before school and this gives your no-makeup face a made-up look. Also, fill in your brows and take yourself to the next level! These two steps will only take u 5 minutes before class!

Five
BB Cream or Tinted Moisturizer. A good one will even out ur skin tones and cover small blemished that come along with the stress of starting a new school year. If your feel confident about the way you look, your will be able to focus on the important things like assignments and who ur eating lunch with! LoL!

I hope these tips help you get prepared for stating school, college, or just another semester. let me know down below what u do to prepare and if any of these tips help you.

Nail Art: Flowers #3

My vacation nail art...not a favorite of mine. I forgot my base coat. So the first night I wanted to do my nails, I was a bit discouraged. To me all I see are flaws. The base color, JulieG 9 to 5, was so streaky. I think it was the lack of BC but I won't know till I try it again. Then my art could have been better I think. But it was wearable. Ended up chipping after one day tho. Lack of a BC, I know.

Hopefully my next round of this orange will go better.

Vlogging/Blogging FAIL

I had a GREAT plan to do daily vlogging during my vacation...very exciting stuff. Upon arriving on vacation I decide that it may be easier to just tai pics and blog daily.
Then on Day 4...my babies got sick.  Really sick.
Dealing with 3 sick babies (my children & nephew) on vacation was not what I had planned for. Nevertheless, I jumped into mom-mode and did what I had to do.
So that is why my pics and post are quite limited...sorry loves. But that life!

Vacation Day 1

So I decided, I washing going to vlog, kinda harder than I thought. But I can take some pics in a snap. Because go my continuously filling camera roll, I am blogging my days and sharing my random pics.
First day was mostly travel. We drive from Maryland to South Carolina. Leaving 1 am and arriving 10 am. Not too bad! We topped at South of the Boarder, of course and then headed to my aunts house.
The drive was pretty uneventful...besides my mother telling me I drive like a crazy person and my dad drives while he is sleep. LoL! Yes. All in all, a good ride.

HAUL: Nail Polish

Lets HAUL it in!

I'm going on vacation tonight (and going to be vlogging so stay tuned for that) so last night I did some last minute shopping. Of course I had to stroll down the beauty isle. I didn't need any thing makeup related, but that dint stop me from looking. LoL! One thing i wanted was the nude lipstick from L'Oreal, the J.Lo one. But they were all out at Walmart and CVS was $10! $4 more than the Mart. Luckly, I got some CVS bucks after my purchase, so I can go back to get it.
Anyway, on to what I did haul.
Two Milani Nail polishes. Bombshell (the pink) and Imperial Purple.
Next two, Salon Perfect Nail Art stripers. Silver and white. I just need to practice....a lot.
Lastly two Julie G polishes, 9 to 5 and Shoe-a-holic. The 9 to 5 is a popular color of hers and it is not what I expected from hearing about it. It has an underlying pink color, interested to see how it looks on my nails.

That is all, hope you enjoyed this haul! And there will be some more mani's and nail art soon to come.
As always, thanks for reading!

5 Tips for Finding Your Drugstore Foundation

Picking drugstore foundation is especially hard because the color matching sometimes makes it intimidating. Also, you can't test in the store. Most just don't get anything. And some just get frustrated and pick hastily. I know, I was one of these...well, I just wouldn't get anything.
Now I think I have the perfect way to pick the drugstore foundation for me! Here are 5 tips that you can use as well.

One
Know what type of skin you have. Each foundation is formulated to go with either dry or oily skin. getting the wrong type could cause the foundation the change on your skin throughout the day. Or even affect your skin by causing it to change (ie. breakouts).

Two
Know what type of product you want.  Foundations can do different things; age fighting, illuminating, nourishing, etc. Decide what you want your foundation to do for you before you even go look. This will save you time and frustration.

Three
Read and trust the label. The foundation tells you exactly what it does, now trust it. There is testing, formulation, science stuff that we (most of us) don't know the first thing about! So trust the experts and read what they are giving you.

Four
For color matching, know your undertones. Each foundation keeps undertones in mind. Once again, just read the label. Undertones matching is the same for every skin color. Use your wrist and check the color of your veins. If your veins are blue/purple, you have cool undertones. If your veins are blue-green, you have neutral undertones. If you veins are green/olive, you have warm undertones. Check this link for further information.

Five
If you can, pick out two colors that you think match. That way you have two to try and in most cases, one will match. But if not, you may be able to mix the colors for your perfect shade. If you get lucky, you can use them at different times of the year. You can also (in most cases) try it and return it. Just read your receipt.

I hope these tips help you. Let me know below if you need any further info or have any more tips to share.
As always, thanks for reading!
